The Brazilian Jazz Class Will Include:

How to play Samba Jazz (aka Brazilian Jazz)

Phrasing
-
Playing melodies & improvising on tunes & what can be done to make them sound "Brazilian".

Building up a repertoire of Samba Jazz standards, with compositions by Joao Donato, Claudio Roditi, Jobim & others

Rhythm section players will get examples of typical figures & rhythmic patterns that are used in the yule.

Singers will learn the English and/or Portuguese lyrics of the tunes that have lyrics.

On the instrumental tunes singers can vocalize and learn the Brazilian phasing alongside the instrumentalists.

All instruments are welcome as well as singers.
